Till August 15, the Uttar Pradesh government has built roughly 300 oxygen plants. Officials have been instructed that till the end of the month to put 548 oxygen plants into service.
Keeping the concerns of Covid-19’s third wave in mind, the Uttar Pradesh administration led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is keeping no stone unturned in preparation for the worst-case scenario.
According to the officials, more than 6,700 P-ICU (pediatric-ICU) beds have already been prepared. 14,000 health personnel have received specialised training to operate in these units. CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to ensure proper medical facility reaches every village in the state.
In each area, the government has set up “special guardian booths” to vaccinate parents of children under the age of 12 on a priority basis.
On August 16, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with the heads of the various committees formed for Covid-19 action plan at Lok Bhawan. The Chief Minister was informed that more than 2.50 lakh tests are performed on a daily basis, with a positivity rate of 0.01 and a recovery rate of 98.6 percent. UP has the record of the highest number of vaccines administered in a day. Uttar Pradesh reached a new milestone in its fight against the coronavirus illness (Covid-19) when the total number of vaccination doses reached six crore. The state of Uttar Pradesh is the only one to reach this milestone.
Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary Information, UP Government, said that the state is working on the 3-T formula of tracing, testing, and treatment to combat coronavirus infection.
The government’s door-to-door tracing and supervised home isolation ensured that hospitals were not overburdened, making it easier to prevent the virus from spreading and to provide timely medical care to very ill patients.
With over 30,000 new cases per day in the second wave of Covid, Uttar Pradesh was one of the worst-affected states. However, Yogi Adityanath scaled up medical infrastructure in keeping a check on Covid cases. His action plan was appreciated by several international and national organisations. As fears of a third wave are predicted by experts, UP’s establishment of oxygen plants and the highest vaccines sends a message that the administration is prepared to deal with the worst-case scenario.
